This kit comes in the most beautiful cardboard packaging. All of the items were clearly very well packed and the presentation of the kit means it would make a perfect gift. I love the colours and design of the instruction and inspiration cards. It all felt very high quality and is clearly created by a crafter who has a very strong sense of attention to detail.

This kit uses high quality Apex Resin One Coat. This epoxy resin ASTM Certified non-hazardous, non toxic and no VOCs. Although the non toxic nature of this resin means that it is safe to use without a respirator mask, it is recommended to wear goggles and gloves to protect your skin from any accidental contact. Working in a well ventilated space is best even when your epoxy resin is non toxic.
How long does it take to make your resin necklace?
- 10-15 minutes to set up your work space, read the instructions provided in your kit and to set out your equipment.
- 5 minutes planning. I recommend having a bit of an idea of how you’d like your pendants to look. You’ll only have 20-30 minutes before your resin sets and it is not that long if you are a bit indecisive like me.
- 3 minutes to pour your two parts of epoxy resin in your cups and mix well.
- 5 minutes to pour your first thin layer of epoxy resin.
- 10 minutes to add your colour and add ins.
- 5 minutes to add a second layer of epoxy resin.
- 12 hours for your first layer of epoxy resin to set.
- 10 minutes to mix and pour your top coat of resin (once your first later has cured).
TOTAL = 13-14hrs (approx. 60-70 minutes for part one and 10 minutes for part two).
Tips and tricks
The epoxy resin provided with this kit has an average working time of 30 minutes. This means that once you have mixed the two parts of the resin together, you have 30 minutes to pour it in to your pendants. It is therefore a good idea to make sure you have your work space protected (I used clingfilm to cover my benches) and all of your kit laid out ready before you mix your resin.
I find it helpful to have a rubbish bag near by and some baby wipes in case of any spills or accidents.
You’ll need some patience. You can’t rush mixing epoxy resin or it will not set correctly or will have a cloudy finish. Placing your flowers and glitter can take time. Don’t rush this part and don’t panic if it doesn’t go to plan. You will have a little time to re-position your ad ins.
