Resin Calculator
Struggling to work out how much resin you need to mix for your project? Take a look at our resin calculator:
Resin Calculator (Volume-Based)
NOTE: This is a formula for rectangular or flat molds.
- Step 1: Measure Your Mold or Project
Use inches or centimeters (just stay consistent).
Length × Width × Height = Volume - Step 2: Convert Volume to Resin Amount
- If measuring in INCHES
1 cubic inch = 0.554 oz of resin
Volume (in³) × 0.554 = Total Resin (oz) - If measuring in CENTIMETERS
1 cubic cm = 1 ml of resin
Volume (cm³) = Total Resin (ml)
- If measuring in INCHES
Quick Reference Chart
| Cubic Inches | Resin Needed (oz) |
|---|---|
| 5 in³ | 2.8 oz |
| 10 in³ | 5.5 oz |
| 15 in³ | 8.3 oz |
| 20 in³ | 11.1 oz |
| 25 in³ | 13.9 oz |
| Volume (cm³) | Resin Needed (ml) |
|---|---|
| 50 | 50 ml |
| 100 | 100 ml |
| 200 | 200 ml |
| 500 | 500 ml |
Mixing Resin & Hardener
Lots of epoxy resins are 1:1 ratio (always check your bottle).
Example (1:1 Resin)
Total needed: 10 oz
Resin: 5 oz
Hardener: 5 oz
WARNING ⚠️ Always follow your brand’s ratio (some are 2:1 or by weight).
Pro Tips:
- Add 5–10% extra for spills & cup loss
- Measure by volume unless your resin says “by weight”
- Deep pours = mix in small batches to avoid overheating
