Resiners Purair Review
We’ve been lucky enough to trial the brand new Resiners Purair Machine that has just been launched on Kickstarter by Resiners. We talk about the pro’s and cons of using an air purifier while crafting especially with resin.
What is the Resiners Purair?
The Resiners Purair is an air purifier is a custom and specialised air monitoring and purification system for resin crafting environments.
Resiners developed their new machine to remove or reduce harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other air pollutants generated while you craft with resin.
It is a great piece of kit which provides a piece of mind.
What are VOC’s?
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency – Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs are organic chemical compounds whose composition makes it possible for them to evaporate under normal indoor atmospheric conditions of temperature and pressure.
VOC’s can be harmful to both the environment and your health. They can cause long term issues with your breathing and create allergic reactions. This is especially the case if you work in an area that is not very well ventilated.
Does epoxy resin contain VOC’s?
There are many resins on the market that are made with low or no VOC’s. These are obviously great and absolutely our recommendation. However even if your resin is non-toxic and contains no voc’s, you can still release chemicals when mixing your resin and especially when you add things like alcohol inks and alcohol spray.
How does the Resiners Purair make working with resin safer?
The Resiners Purair features can provide a safer working environment by:
Having a smart detection which constantly watches over your air quality. It senses any rise in volatile organic compounds (VOCs). When levels increase, it automatically activates, purifying the air around you before the environment becomes more harmful.
What makes the Purair better than a standard purifier?
With a 40% increase in sensitivity comparing to other air purifier, Purair’s detection system is more responsive than ever.
Is the Resiners Purair easy to use?
Yes, it’s really easy to use. You simply plug it in, let the machine take the readings of your air quality (which only takes a few minutes) and it will automatically run if your air quality is low and get to work creating a safer working environment.
What does the Resiners Purair cost?
Currently available to pre-order on Kickstarter, you can pre-order the Resiners Purair for $169 or around £131. Resiners will be producing the machines in November so you’ll expect to get your machine just in time for your Christmas crafting sessions.
So, do we recommend it?
Overall, we find the Resiners Purair is a great addition to our resin kit. Especially as we move to the colder weather here in the UK where ventilation might be a problem, we love using this to give piece of mind in addition to our usual PPE.
While you wait for the arrival of your Purair we highly recommend the Resiners mixer and bubble remover. Both can be bought on the Resiners website where you can get 15% off with code – CULLERCOATS.
