What is a resin mixer?

Electric resin mixers can be a huge help particularly for anyone who struggles with joint pain, mobility issues or fatigue due to being a resin crafting addict (we know there’s lots of you out there!). This machine promises to allow you to mix your two part epoxy resin hands free and you can mix up to two cups at a time. I also like that it means you can mix your next batch while pouring your first.

What are the key features of the Resiners Epoxy Resin Mixer?

  • Rechargeable
This means that the machine can be plugged in to charge then moved around your crafting space without any wires attached. Huge bonus if you have a crowded crafting area like I do.
  • Lightweight
This machine is small and lightweight, meaning it is easy to move and store.
  • Dual mixer
This is a dual mixing machine meaning you can mix two batches at a time. Perfect if you are mixing a large amount of resin or if you want to mix two different colours at the same time.
  • Adjustable
You get spare blades with the mixer and the machine can easily change heights meaning its easy to mix smaller or larger batches.
  • Easy to clean
The removable plastic blades and removable silicone mat where you place your cups mean that you can easily clean the machine. I found that alcohol spray and baby wipes worked perfectly.

How to use the Resiners Resin Mixer

  1. Measure out your resin according to your chosen brands instructions.
  2. Add both parts of your resin to one cup.

TIP: Make sure your cup isn’t too full so that resin doesn’t spill out of the sides.
  3. Raise the Resiners mixer to full height by pressing the button at the back of the machine.
  4. Place your cup under the mixing blade (you can place on cup either side if required).
  5. Lower the blades again by pressing the button on the back of the machine and pressing down gently until it clicks into place.
  6. Slowly turn the dial on the side you have placed your cup until it reaches full speed.
  7. Let the machine do all of the work for the time that your resin instructs you to mix for. Gently move your cup for 20-30 seconds while the blades are rotating to ensure resin at the bottom and sides is fully mixed.
  8. Slowly turn the dial to reduce the blade speed until your machine stops.
  9. Raise the blades by pressing the button at the back of the machine until it clicks into place.
  10. Allow the resin to drip from your blades before you remove your cup.
  11. Clean your blades with alcohol spray and baby wipes.

Anything we didn’t like?

I found very little wrong with the machine. The only negative was that the blades didn’t quite reach the bottom or sides of my cups. I navigated this by lifting the cup and tilting it slightly for around 20 seconds during the mixing cycle. This didn’t have any impact on the resin curing.
