Why is Apex CurePro so special?

  • High-quality finish and shine: CurePro is produces a clear, glossy, “glass-like” finish that works beautifully for top coats or doming. It gives that more “professional” once finished. Honestly, we’ve been amazed. It’s rescued some really terrible projects where we’ve covered flash cures, amine blush and some major scratches. Its covered them all with absolute ease.
  • Good workability & ease of use: It uses a simple 1:1 mix ratio by volume — this makes it easy to measure and great for mixing either small or large amounts.
  • No bubbles: This resin self releases bubbles so quickly. We’ve not needed to use heat or alcohol to pop those pesky bubbles. They just rise to the surface and pop on their own before it cures.
  • Perfect for cooler temperatures: Crafting in winter? Absolutely not a problem for CurePro. We’ve had perfect results and no amine blush even on the most cold, damp and rainy of days. Absolute win for crafting in Winter.
  • Versatile: ‘CurePro works on a variety of surfaces (metal, wood, MDF, glass, etc.), and is suitable for things like jewellery, coasters, art pieces, and decorative items.’
  • Self-levelling + doming effect: Because it’s fairly viscous, CurePro flows slowly. This means you’ll get a smooth top coat or gentle dome finish. This is ideal when sealing flat surfaces or encapsulating items.
  • Reasonably quick curing times: This resin will reach full cure in about 24 hours (possibly longer in cooler temperatures).

Things to Watch

  • Viscosity can be heavy for some detail work: Because CurePro is thicker than many resins, it’s ideal for doming or top coating — but that thickness might make it less good for projects needing very fine detail, thin pours, or for filling intricate molds.

As a “top-coat / doming” resin, the recommended maximum pour thickness for a mould is much lower (typically ~2.5 cm for mould pours overall; top-coat max ~0.5 cm) — so if you’re hoping to create deep resin casts, Apex Deep Cast is going to be better for you.
